There is so much to do on your Walt Disney World vacation between the parks, the dining, the festivals, and the list goes on and on. Did you know there is still even more ? They’re quite few tours that take you behind the scenes and shows you the “The World”, from a whole new vantage point. Different tours have different age requirements, but are so worth the time. While some of the tours have not come back since the Covid closure, there are still some great ones to choose from.
Create Your Disney Dream Day – Want to spend the day at Disney your way? You can hire your own personal VIP Tour Guide. The day starts with a private vehicle picking you up at your resort. From there your Tour Guide will proceed to make it one of the most memorable days. Guests pend the day bouncing from ride to ride, with a “fast pass” to the fun (not all attractions are included). Tours are booked for a minimum of 7 hours and can be used at multiple parks. Parties can be up to 10 guests, including infants. Cost varies from $450 – $900 per hour depending on the season and book up very fast.
Animal Kingdom
Wild Africa Trek – Located in Africa, this privately guided VIP expedition takes you behind the scenes of the Harambe Reserve. A walk along a grassland path, across a rope bridge and a ride in a rugged safari vehicle await you. This brings you through the heart of the savanna and an amazing view of rhinos, giraffes, hippos and crocodiles. After working up an appetite trekking across the savanna, you can indulge on African-inspired snacks. Guests must be 8 years old and between 45 and 300 lbs. with the harness gear on. $199 per person, tax not included.
Savor the Savanna – Special access to the Savanna is just the start of this immersive journey. After a ride to your private viewing area, a knowledgable guide will give you insight into all the savanna’s residents. While savoring the savanna scenery, indulge in a sampling of African-inspired cuisine paired with a selection of regional beer and wine. Guests must be 8 years old and the cost is $174 per guest and tax not included.
Caring for Giants – Spend 60 magical minutes learning about the African elephant herd that calls the savanna home. Including the day to day care, to the conservation work that Disney is involved it. This behind the scenes tour will give you a new appreciation for these gentle giants. Guests must be 4 years old and cost is $35 per person, tax not included.
Up Close with Rhinos – Spend 60 minutes behind the scenes with park’s pack of white rhinos. A guide will offer you insights into their behaviors and biology. Discussing the challenges they face that are threatening them in the wild. Guests must be 4 years old and cost is $35 per person, tax not included.
Epcot
Behind the Seeds – Spending an hour behind the scenes of the fish farm and the 4 greenhouses that make up The Land Pavilion. This is a great tour for anyone that loves Living with the Land attraction, gardening or natural sciences. Guests must be 3 years old and cost is $35 per person, tax not included.
Epcot Seas Adventures – Dive Quest – This is a great chance for certified divers to take the plunge in 5.7 million gallon saltwater aquarium that is the center of The Seas with Nemo and Friends Pavilion. Not only will you get to spend 40 minutes on your dive, you get to spend the rest of your two hours learning about the inner workings of the aquarium. With the pavilion’s 56 giant windows, your family member and friends will get to watch your dive and even snap a few pictures for you. Guests must be 10 years old and show proof of SCUBA certification. Cost is $219 per person and tax is not included.
Epcot Seas Adventures – Dolphins in Depth – This is a great chance to meet the dolphins of Epcot. Experts will guide you as you spend 30 minutes in the water with them and view the backstage area. This 2 hour experience is a great mix of fun and learning. Cost is $199 per person and tax not included.
Magic Kingdom
Disney’s Keys to the Kingdom Tour – A 5 hour walking tour that unlocks the fascinating history of Magic Kingdom. Including backstage access to legendary hidden areas, using the famous “Utilidor” tunnels. Trivia, little known facts and other tidbits about the park are shared by your guide. Included in the tour is a delicious lunch as well. Guests must be 16 years of age with a valid photo I.D. and cost is $114 per person.
All of these tours require valid theme park admission and park reservations. Each one has different guidelines or restrictions.
