One question we get often is, Is purchasing the Memory Maker worth it for my family? While there is no absolute answer to this, the consensus is yes, it is worth it!
Have you ever looked back through your family vacation photos and noticed that there is always someone missing from them? Someone had to take the picture. In my family, there was always a parent missing from the entire vacation. If my mom was manning the camera, she never appeared in any shots from that trip. Same if it was my dad. Those days are gone, friends! Now, your entire family can be in your pictures!
Several years ago (I’m not exactly sure of the year, but in 2008 it was a thing) Disney began offering their Photopass service. This service was a game changer for families on their vacations. This service meant that everyone could be in that beloved castle picture. Disney stationed Photopass photographers all over their parks armed with cameras, scanners, and barcoded cards. You would approach the photographer (wait in line if there was one), hand your barcoded card over and pose! That was it! Your photos would magically appear in your account later in the day. Back when the program was new, it could take a full day for your photos to appear in your account. You could look through them and then decide if you wanted to buy a disk that contained all of the photos taken throughout your trip.

Fast forward to now. Photopass has morphed into the Memory Maker. A lot has stayed the same, but there have been some great changes and additions. When you purchase your Memory Maker in advance, it is $149.00 and includes ALL of your digital downloads! Memory Maker not only gives you your traditional Photopass photos, but character photos, dining photos, and select attraction photos. You may even get lucky and discover Tinker Bell hanging out in one of your photos! All you do is scan your Magic Band and BOOM, the photos are linked to your account.
Most pictures will show up in your My Disney Experience account within a few hours, but there are a few locations that take a little while longer to appear. The photos are all digital so you can share them as soon as they are loaded into your account. You can even edit your photos! Once you have them in your account, you can add cool borders, crop them, and tweak the color.
