Released today Splash Mountain at both Disneyland and Walt Disney World will be closing January 23rd. The refursbishement is to make way for Tiana’s Bayou Adventure. We brought you that information back in July, and you can read all about it here. They are expecting the refurbishment to take more than 12 months. Also released today, a little more about the ride and the storyline behind it.
Tiana Has New Friends
Brand new characters will be joining Tiana and Louis in Tiana’s Bayou Adventure starting in 2024. We got to see some of those brand new characters, specially created for this ride. Jazz loving alligator Louis joins Tiana during Mardi Gras season as they prepare to host a one-of-a-kind celebration. Taking the first drop into the ride, you will be greeted by old friends and some new ones.
According this artist rendition, fireflies will light up the night and invite you deep into the bayou. Zydeco music fills the air around as you are transported. Join Louis and Tiana in the world of the bayous and the world they love. If you are unfamiliar with Zydeco music, it’s a special blend of rhythm and blues. It gets your toes tapping and hands just a clapping.
As Louis greets you, he explains where this special music is coming from, some of Tiana’s new friends. A band full of adorable critters playing on instruments straight from the bayou. Using natural materials they found in the bayou, this eclectic band is strumming up some great sounds. Included in this adorable band is an otter, a rabbit, a raccoon, a beaver, a turtle and a few others. It seems like this is not the last of we will see of these guys, but Disney never lets the whole story out.
