Announced today during the ESSENCE Fest in New Orleans, coming to Disney Parks in late 2024 Tiana’s Bayou Adventure. This all new adventure will bring guests into Tiana’s world from “The Princess and the Frog”. Reimagining of Splash Mountain has caused quite a stir on social media, but this musical journey has been well received by most.

A Love Letter to New Orleans
Traveling frequently to Louisiana since first announced in 2020, Disney Imagineers have conducted extensive research. The goal was for Tiana’s Bayou Adventure to preserve the heart and soul New Orleans, the city that inspired Princess Tiana’s story. The city itself is almost a character in and of itself. Imagineers received inspiration from all over the region and talked with many local experts along the way. Exploring the French Market, the bayou, consulting with chefs, musicians and even cultural institutions fed these inspirations.
As Charita Carter shared, “in many ways, Tiana’s Bayou Adventure is a love letter to New Orleans. Like the musical city that inspired this attraction, Tiana’s second act is about a community working in harmony to achieve something extraordinary. She reminds us of an immutable truth we can all relate to: ‘if you do your best each and every day, good things are sure to come your way.’ And that’s a melody we can all sing along to!”
A Musical Adventure
As mentioned above, when it was first announced in 2020 Splash Mountain would be receiving a make-over, it created a social media stir. Many die-hard fans did not want to see the original theme done away with. The Princess and the Frog has an amazing story, characters and a stellar soundtrack. Many felt its presence in parks has been lacking and that is being rectified.
The overhaul of Splash Mountain will pick up where the film left off. Joining Princess Tiana, Naveen and even that jazz-loving alligator Louis, guests will be taken on a musical adventure. As they prepare to host a one-of-a-kind Mardi Gras celebration, as only New Orleans can do. Throughout the ride, you will spend time with familiar faces and make new friends. Exploring Tiana’s next chapter traveling through the bayou to original music inspired by the film.
I hope they find a way to add Dr. Facilier to the new overlay, to me, he an amazing villain and totally under-utilized.
