This week in our resort spotlight, we are leaving the House of Mouse and heading to a world full of magicians, dragons, Transformers, and even a Minion or two. We are heading over to Universal Studios Orlando and checking out one of their preferred hotels, Loews Sapphire Falls.
A Universal Caribbean Feel ..
Touted as an “island escape in the heart of an unforgettable adventure”, Sapphire Falls is a favorite of many guests. Upon opening in 2016, it brought a Caribbean vibe to Universal Orlando with a step into a tropical paradise. Staying in one of their 1000 guest rooms or 83 suites you will instantly feel laid back as you wander through the resort. Just take in the blue waterfalls cascading over lush grounds and steel drums transporting you too island time. Passageways and pools hide among the ruins, where you will also find numerous Caribbean-themed dining.

Nothing says Caribbean Like an Amazing Restaurant
One of 4 places to get a little island snack, Amatista Cookhouse is coastal-chic eatery. Featuring an exhibition kitchen cooking up Caribbean-inspired cuisine that will satisfy every island appetite. When you think of the Caribbean, the adult beverage of choice is rum. At Strong Water Tavern, a rum specialist will be there to serve some rare vintage rums along with tantalizing tapas-style dining. This a stylish watering hole that is a must see. For a quick little grab and go, this port shop, New Dutch Trading Co. is a great little stop to get some craft sandwiches, freshly brewed coffee, pastries and more. Hanging out poolside doesn’t mean you miss out. Drhum Club Cantina offers a delightful menu, centered around fresh seafood and tasty tropical drinks. Tired from your day in the parks, room service is also an option.
Muggles Prepare Yourself ..
One of the perks at staying here is early admission to the Wizarding World of Harry Potter. Muggles (and even pure bloods) can enjoy strolling along Diagon Alley or hopping aboard the Hogwarts Express. Don’t forget to stop by Olivander’s Wand Shop, and remember the wand chooses the wizard, not the other way around.
What’s Paradise without a Volcano?
Universal’s water park, Volcano Bay is just steps away from this resort paradise. Within walking distance, this water park full of thrills, chills and relaxation is connected to your hotel with walking paths. This is a great place to relax, unwind and cool off from a day in the parks.
What if I Want to Leave ?
Let’s face it, this resort is hard to leave, but most of the time we are here for the adventure that is Universal Studios Orlando. When it is time to visit the parks, there are a few ways to get there, some that are just for guests of Premier and Preferred hotels. Waterways, roads and walking paths connect this resort to Universal Studios Florida, Universal CityWalk and Universal’s Islands of Adventure. Complimentary water taxis are available for this resort, as another added perk. And as mentioned above, Volcano Bay is available via walking paths or complimentary shuttle.
