There have been lots of big announcements over the last two days from the Walt Disney World Corporation. It seems that Iger is coming back with a bang and making changes quickly. Let’s break down what’s new at Disney.

Complimentary Guest Parking
Starting January 10th, complimentary self-parking has returned for all guests staying at a Walt Disney World Resort hotel. This is bringing another perk for staying on site to guests. Parking on site at Disney resorts used to cost $25 per day, which could add up to a pretty penny for some.
Disney Genie+ Changes
While they have not cancelled the Disney Genie+ system, against a lot of guests wishes, they have added a perk to it. Some time in the next couple of months, Disney Genie+ will include attraction photo downloads! This will only be used for the rides in the park that Disney Genie+ for day, adding a little more value to this system.
Annual Passholders
They have not opened up purchasing for new Annual Passholders, yet (although there has been a change to the graphic on the website fueling lots of speculation it will be soon). They have given existing pass holders a new perk, no theme park reservations needed, sort of. Sometine soon APs will be able to visit the theme parks after 2:00 pm with out a reservation. This new rule will not apply to Saturday or Sundays in the Magic Kingdom. It’s still a step in the right direction for Passholders !
More Changes at Disneyland
Starting February 4th, guests with valid Parkhoppers will now be able to hop to the next park starting at 11 am PT. This is a huge change and makes it easier to enjoy both parks throughout the day. Photopass digital attraction photos will be available as complimentary souvenirs !
Disney also sent out a few Tweets hinting at the opening of Tron: Lightcycle Runs. With the big reveal being April 4th ! And don’t forget the refurbishment of Splash Mountain is scheduled to start the end of January and this is just the start. The end of the 50th Anniversary on March 31st will bring in the next celebration, 100 Years of Wonder. After just getting back from the Walt Disney World Marathon weekend and seeing some of the new merchandise they have released, I am super excited to celebrate this.
And the festivals are returning for the year beginning with Festival of the Arts starting January 13th and running through Feb. 20th. If you are interested in visiting in 2023 for one of the festivals or for the 100 Years of Wonder, contact your favorite Enchanted Adventures Travel Advisor.
